We’re Not Always as Sane as We Think

My mother, always a superior housekeeper before her dementia, attempting to be helpful, washed a load of my sister’s laundry using vegetable oil in place of liquid detergent. (Imagine my sister’s horror while transferring the clothes to the dryer!)

Without the dementia excuse, but simply because (for whatever reason) we had temporary lapses of sanity, we all do some weird, whacked-out, crazy things.

The only vaccine for these “I-can’t-believe-I-did-that” episodes, is to be aware of:

  1. Our need for feedback and guidance from others

self delusion

2.  Our need to practice the art of a quiet and focused mind

mind stretches
