If We Feel Compelled to Tell People “I Am a Good Person”

…One of four things is happening:

  1. We are afraid they don’t have enough evidence to believe it
  2. We don’t have enough evidence to believe it
  3. We have guilt, secrets, or unresolved sh*# about not being a good person
  4. We are comparing yourself to other small-minded people and hoping that is enough to convince someone

Way out?

  1. Quit telling and start being
  2. Let go of our ego
  3. Get real with ourselves
  4. Look out into the wide world and get a valid standard. (There are plenty of noble men and women to emulate)

And…most importantly of all…own this:

Good people never have to tell people that they are good people.
