Autobiography of a Sigh

I started out in very humble circumstances

Just a slight breath of a commentary

My childhood spent in spats

Learning new things

Bullies and losing games

As a teen, with stupid authority figures

Hating school

And rivals

But look at my progress

As an adult

Coming into my own

As full-fledged frustration

Maturing in failure and insecurity

And loss

So strong in fear and depression

In giving up and despair

Until

In old age

I own this body

From the first awareness of day

With its tired thought of rising

To the last

Reluctant blink of the eyelid

Into sleep
