Today Is the Day

untitled (19)

Why is today the day?

  1. It’s the only one we have.
  2. Who knows the intricacies of mystery in this one day?
  3. We have no energy to waste on tomorrow.
  4. If we live completely and passionately right now, we’ll: a) Be more fun to be around, and b) More prepared for tomorrow.

Emerson is not asking us to disregard our future, only to be fully present in the moment.

The main reason we don’t do this is because we are resisting our present circumstances in some way.

It seems so counter-intuitive, but only when we stop resisting and start embracing our lives as-is, will we be able to move on with success.
