“If you want your life to be a magnificent story, then begin by realizing that you are the author…”
– Mark Houlahan
A few years back I didn’t believe this.
I thought my circumstances and my beliefs were the author. I thought I was trapped. I thought it was more noble to pray that I would die on the way to work rather than to get a divorce or change jobs. I thought that admitting failure was more humiliating and sinful than living the lie I was living.
I was wrong.
When I began to write my own story, the pages came alive. The story became so engaging that I couldn’t wait to write the next page. Hope surfaced. Joy moved in. I moved out and…fired the other authors.
