Those of us who have difficulty being quiet or sitting still can understand the constant bombardment of random thoughts. The only success I have had with settling down my thoughts is contained in this quote from Byron Katie.
When I started taking responsibility for my own stuff and quit trying to control or judge what other people did, said, or thought, it freed up a lot of space; space that was formerly devoted to comparing and justifying myself by implicating and denouncing others. Didn’t work. Caused pain, dysfunction, and pin-balling chaos.
