Postpone the Whine

When we feel the violence of change like cold water in the face, it works to our benefit to postpone whining, complaining, and despair until a little time has passed. I’ve been terribly unskilled at this “wait” thing, flying off the handle, despairing of life, complaining to anyone who would listen, and making everyone around me miserable.

In spite of all my doomsday talk, I am still here: inevitably more resilient and powerful than I ever thought.

“You must face annihilation over and over again to find what is indestructible in yourself.” -Pema Chodron

And you’ll like yourself a lot more being noble versus ignoble, mature versus immature. Others will too.
