Otherwise It Is So Unfair

If the meaning of life is to be successful or wealthy or famous it doesn’t make sense that some are born in easy circumstances and some difficult, that some are born with healthy minds and bodies and some are not, that some are born “beautiful” and some are not.

But if the meaning of life is to give it meaning by nourishing the noble spirit within us, and what happens inside is more important than what happens out, then, yes, the seemingly random and often brutal nature of life can make sense. It can make sense that hope and justice for all is not a pipe dream.
