However, because we have this amazing capacity to forget our own offenses, we tend to focus on the slights, offenses, and pain that others have caused us. If I was held accountable for all the things I didn’t get caught doing and all the things I have done to hurt other people (whether I realized it or not), I’d be in deep, deep trouble.
