Australian speaker, Lisa Mcinnis, born with an eyelid permanently shut, was taunted by classmates for being ugly and looking stupid. Her mother confirmed her helplessness to change life being so unfair for her, but added…“What you can do is make it more fair for those around you.”
Eventually that is what Lisa did, learning to laugh with people about her challenges, instead of letting them laugh at her. Then, as a young adult, she told her parents that she was going to speak to one million Australian school children about self-esteem. She has done that…and much, much more.
Thank you, Lisa, for such a worthwhile challenge today: Make life more fair for someone.
