I Chose to Laugh

There are always going to be people and things that push our buttons and trigger the wrong emotions from us. If we want to be more than Pavlov’s dog, we must learn to choose our responses.

It used to seem impossible that I could choose not to be angry, sad, or depressed, and I resented anyone who said it was up to me. Now, I have reprogramed myself to say…

  • “That’s interesting” or “Tell me more about that” when someone says something I don’t agree with
  • “How can I use this experience to help someone else?” when I am challenged, and
  • What is the Universe trying to teach me? when I am hurting
