Two-Minute Tune-Up 7.13.12 Sometimes We Are Rejected

Reality: When we become vulnerable, disclosing our true selves, we will sometimes be rejected.

But this state of rejection is much better than the state of being accepted based on a false premise.

I am, by no means, saying we ought to indiscriminately spout off “truth” without considering the impact our words have on others.

Here are some helpful guidelines for dealing honestly with others:

  • Love yourself enough to be yourself.
  • Love yourself enough to attach less importance to rejection from others.
  • Love others enough not to want to offend them unnecessarily.
  • Love others enough to accept their opinions and who they are…without judgment.
  • Love your short life enough not to waste it on drama, fear, and pretension.
  • Love truth enough to remember there is room in the world for everyone.
